Falls O' Plenty!

Installment two of the infamous Georgia trip. Two more exciting days have passed and now that I have the internet at my fingertips I will keep you all updated. Who knew that Georgia had so many waterfalls, “Not I,” said the cow. In two days we have visited Tallulah Falls, Minnehaha Falls, and Toccoa Falls. The first were grand and large, we climbed down 620 stairs to get to a suspension bridge for a better view. Then we had to climb back up! Minnehaha falls were smaller but amazingly beautiful, lots of cascading falls and it was breathtaking. The third is very tall and drops straight down. It just happens to be on the campus of a religious college, and in 1977 was the site of a horrible flood.

We stayed at a beautiful bed and breakfast that is nestled into the countryside and very secluded. It was beautiful and very serene, despite the fact that it was a little hard to find. (Off the beaten track!)

We have also tried boiled peanuts, which seem to be very popular here, but I didn’t particularly care for them. We also drove through a lovely little town that had a very strong German influence, and was very pretty. “So little to do and so much time, strike that reverse it.”

Life is turning up Peaches!

So far our trip to Georgia is going great. We have had a blast visiting with our friends and visiting new places. Beepers has been on his best behavior and we are really proud of him, he did exceptionally well on the plane. (Knock on wood, because we still have to go back.)

I have found out that in the last few days we have been to the World’s Largest Aquarium, the World’s Largest Drive In, and America’s Busiest Airport. Whew! We are exhausted. Here are some visuals for those unfortunate souls who cannot be here.

We were driving around and drove by this weird building and just had to take a picture.

Crystal and Beepers at the zoo, they let you get really close to the animals.

The family at the zoo, if you look closely you can see elephants in the background.

Beepers pressed up against the glass at the aquarium. Yes that fish was probably that big!

Truly Wicked.

Last week Crystal, Beepers and myself were in the big Apple. We were taking a cruise with Crystal's family from NY to the Bahamas and back. That is a story that I will have to tell when I have more time. While we were in NY, Crystal wanted to go see a Broadway show and obtained tickets to see Wicked. I was intrigued at the brief synopsis that she gave me, but I was not prepared for what I was to behold.

The stage and the props were magnificent, I was really impressed with the quality and the detail. I am not completely without culture and I was expecting to enjoy the show, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. In fact, even now over a week later I am still humming some of the tunes to myself. For those of you who don't know what the play is about here is a brief summary.
"Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years."
The plot was good, it has some funny bits, and the music was great. If you ever get the chance to see this show, I would recommend that you do.
